Gone for the Summer

Most of the OGG guys are gone for the summer. Jerry's in California, Jack headed for Idaho, Larry's in Illinois, and Paul is just wandering around, right now I think he's in Utah. Just Emett and me hanging around Pahrump and lookin for new trails.

Sunday's ride report

We met for breakfast before our ride and officially added Paul as a member. Paul has a Rzr, not a quad, so we are going to go up Jack's trail to check if Paul can make it. Paul for sure made it but I think he has some scratches he didn't used to have. Welcome aboard Paul!!!

Report on Thursdays Ride

We left Pahrump, rode up to Wallace Canyon, then travel the back trail to Carpenter Canyon, then down the mountain behind Spring Mountain Race Track and back to Pahrump. There was a rumor, started by somebody, about someone getting stuck in the snow. Simply wasn't true, it was a teaching lesson for the new guy on winch use!!!! LOL, nice try Paul.

Thursday

We ride thursday, meet at 8:45 to 9:00 am at our normal crossroads.

Sunday 3/21 ride

We took a new guy, Paul, with his razor with us today. We had planned on trying to get up Wheeler Pass again and Larry was going to lead us. Larry was doing a bang up job too. . . that is until his wheel fell off, nut behind the wheel was loose, LOL. Paul and his razor did good, only had to be winched out once, I'm thinking it's a new guy thing, cause first time out for Phil we had to winch him out too, LOL. With Larry's rig kinda fixed he limped it most of the way home but the wheel finally fell off permanently and we had to bring his trailer up and tote it home. We still had a ball.

Saturday's ride

Saturday we towed quads to Lovell Canyon and unloaded there. We then rode over the mountain to Red Rock Canyon. The trail was pretty tore up, seems a 4x4 had slipped off the road and winched himself back up and really tore it up. We had to do some road repair to get by that spot. Once on the other side by the picnicing area we discovered we had made a mistake, the place was full of people, not our cup of tea. We headed back over the hill, thinking this will be a much better trip mid week in the spring.

I been lazy

Looks like I've been lazy about posting, but truth is I've been busy. We have been riding, checked out the pass to Wheeler, was probably passable but now it's snowed again up there so probably isn't now. We made a loop up around the Johnnie Mine the other day, Emett took us on another "Emett cut", whew, those can be rough. I got a bigger quad added to my stable yesterday so we'll take it out today and test it. Here's a couple of pics of our last outings.

Yeah, Gnome was with us

For those who were wondering, "Yeah, the Gnome was with us." A hottub for the cold days is out there, just for the takin. A horse was in the corral when we got there but Jack scared it out, LOL.

Exploring again

We of OGG decided to revisit the site some of the guys found last week. The conjecture is these are old indian drawings but none of us know for sure, just doesn't seem like modern day graffitti.

Too much happening

There's been too much going around in our lives to go riding and the weather has been an issue. Hopefully we'll be back wandering the trails in the mountains shortly. Some of the OGG did manage a ride last week, they found some Indian drawings, hopefully we'll make another trip up there soon and get some pics.
