Update, Update, Update

I have been sadly negligent in posting on the OGG, just seems like everything is getting in the way. Anyway, we have been riding, we have a couple of new guys or guests riding with us. Wayne is one of them, can't remember his buddies name right now. We've done a few runs up Wallace Canyon, a couple of runs up Wheeler Pass, done the loop a time or two, and did Jack's Trail (which really belongs to Emmet), and even over to Red Rock once. Heard rumors John took a wrong turn once, probably why he decided to have his knee replaced. (maybe he shoulda had his sense of direction replaced instead). Em got rid of his quad, then replaced it with John's quad, which is now Em's new quad. We are all kinda mad at Janet as she cooked and gave us all a bunch of candy and cookies for Christmas. (Just what a bunch of ol chubby guys need, something to help make sure the pants don't fit). Next ride is Saturday, the end of the year ride, "ALL ABOARD!!!)

I hear there is a story here

Seems like a couple of the Old Geezer's went camping, I heard something about cot's breaking, air mattresses flipping over, somebody falling out of bed (in an enclosed trailer yet???), a crushed chair, small fish, lost ammo magazines, and in every story there seems to be some reference to Brokeback Mountain, or Broke Back, or Deliverence or something like that. . . anybody care to comment??? Why does John have chapstick???? Where'd the butter go??? Man, there seems to be a lot of questions floating around.

Snowbird Geezers

Our Old Geezer Group snowbird members are beginning to head for the northern climes. We've had a great season with them and will miss all of them this summer. And think fondly of them when we ride this summer when our rides start more like 6am and we scramble home about 11am cause it's well over 100 degrees and the sweat is beginning to make mud of the dust.

Sunday's ride

8 rigs headed up to the "Railroad Tie Ranch", then over to the "Spring in a Cave", and lastly across the highway to a bunch of mining claims with some active.

More Saturday Pics

Here's a couple more pics from Saturday. The big tubes you see were for bringing fresh air into the mines.

Saturday to the mines

John, Larry, and Ron went exploring the Gunsight mine, level 4 entrance we believe. We also scouted out the trail over the mountain to the other mines, now we will not have to load and unload to go over there, just drive on through the pass on the quads.

4 OGG ride

Today, 4 of the OGG, Larry, Jerry, Jack and Ron decided to check out the Carpenter Canyon and Wallace Canyon loop. The rains have really tore up the road, there's a couple of places where the road is now 3 to 4 feet lower than it used to be. We were the first tracks up Wallace Canyon and only made it about 3/4 of the way. Jerry said that's enough, we be gettin stuck.

First ride of 2011

Sunday morning at 10am the OGG formed up for our first ride of 2011. We left the Winery parking lot and headed to the snow line. At our first coffee break stop to check how things were going and to warm up a bit, it was decided maybe today's mission would be to get John stuck. We headed up to Wheeler Well and proceeded to accomplish our mission, it was easier than we thought as John kept cooperating by getting stuck again and again. Lucky for John, Don was there with his Razor to pull him out. Then next time, it was Greg and his Honda and Emmett and his Arctic Cat to the rescue. Later on after that bunch of fun, we met a 4X4 PU stuck further up the mountain, after we pulled/pushed him out of the ditch we headed down the mountain. Too bad we didn't get picks of one of the Razor's doing a 360 coming down the hill but Jack got to see it first hand.
